I just created the blog for my new novel, 3/17. The book is in final editing stage. Follow all the latest news on it here.

My new novel, 3/17, is now off to the editors. This is not a book in the Maeve Kenny series, but it is another Irish-themed story. I plan to launch it as an e-book first, then publish it in paperback. Stay tuned…

Irish author Eddie Stack (who helped me give an accurate County Clare flavor to my novel) cuts the edge of literary technology today by launching his collection of terrific short stories, “The West,” as an iPhone app. The app includes Eddie reading his works and music by trad greats Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill. Learn more at the Apple iPhone app store. It’s an incredible bargain @ $1.99!
I recommend highly this book that captures vividly a certain time in the West of Ireland, with characters whose desperate, insular lives will haunt you.

Next time I visit Keuka Lake, I plane to visit Loughmare Winery. It’s a small operation, but their strong Celtic/Irish theme is intriguing.

Welcome to the further adventures of Fergal & Brídgeen & Andy & Maeve. Hopefully you have met them already in my debut novel, “The Cyber Miracles.”
If you take a peek at the tags I’m using for the first post of this blog, you will see the story of these characters has shifted from Manhattan, Queens & Binghamton to County Clare in Ireland, Bruges in Belgium, Ithaca, Binghamton and the Finger Lakes Wine Region.
I finished the second draft of the novel this morning. Now my editors will take a close look and offer suggestions for fine tuning.
If all goes as planned, expect copies out in July.

What readers are saying:
"This endearing foursome, that so many readers of the first book fell in love with, face new challenges with Irish wit and a generally upbeat outlook on life. They're a group of friends that anyone would want to hang out with."
"After finishing it, I kept thinking of the characters and wondered how they were doing. I had to remind myself they weren't real and had to let them go..."
"I couldn't put it down."
"Pure dead brilliant!"

The story

Irish couple Fergal and Brídgeen Griffin get an intriguing wedding gift: the chance to manage a Finger Lakes winery. When they move to Keuka Lake from Queens, see the rundown winery and meet its surly winemaker, they realize it will be quite a challenge getting from grapevine to bottle.
Meanwhile their friends Maeve and Andy face a challenge of their own, separation as he pursues experimental therapy for his paraplegia.
As the two couples face the challenges ahead, will they be able to keep hope alive?
