Finished my NaNoWriMo novel entry just after 6 a.m. today. Was proud of myself for not padding the word count. (Trust me, the temptation was very strong :). This is a complete novel from start to finish.
What a year this has been! I’ve completed three novels and published one of them, you know, that little tale about the Irish couple and the Finger Lakes winery….
Well, back to zzzzzzland. Check back tonight to find out when I’ve posted the Cyber Monday discount code on Twitter.

I’m trapped in a java-fueled writing marathon to reach my 50K word goal for National Novel Writing Month. I’m in the midst of the story’s climax right now, and let me tell ya, I wish you were there. It’s manic, wild and hopefully some long-suffering traditional Irish musicians will find it feckin’ brilliant. (I know it’s been therapeutic for me to write.)
So, back to the writing cave. And remember, tomorrow night on Twitter (@cailinAolain) I’ll give out the 20 percent off code you can use to buy either of my novels on this Monday, Cyber Monday.
     Slán go foill!

nanowrimoOy vey, I just signed up to be part of National Novel Writing Month. (Crazy? Perhaps… )
NaNoWriMo is a great concept where writers around the world give each other support as they attempt to complete a 50-000-word manuscript in November. (That’s 1,667 words/day.)
I know it can be done. My third novel, to be released next year, was completed last January for a contest on (So, OK, I had an extra day ;^).
Wish me luck! The novel to be features Irish-American themes and I hope will be a fun, quick read.

What readers are saying:
"This endearing foursome, that so many readers of the first book fell in love with, face new challenges with Irish wit and a generally upbeat outlook on life. They're a group of friends that anyone would want to hang out with."
"After finishing it, I kept thinking of the characters and wondered how they were doing. I had to remind myself they weren't real and had to let them go..."
"I couldn't put it down."
"Pure dead brilliant!"

The story

Irish couple Fergal and Brídgeen Griffin get an intriguing wedding gift: the chance to manage a Finger Lakes winery. When they move to Keuka Lake from Queens, see the rundown winery and meet its surly winemaker, they realize it will be quite a challenge getting from grapevine to bottle.
Meanwhile their friends Maeve and Andy face a challenge of their own, separation as he pursues experimental therapy for his paraplegia.
As the two couples face the challenges ahead, will they be able to keep hope alive?
